A full day on a boat means intense sun. A long-sleeve shirt with UV protection — plus sunscreen, ideally SPF 50+ — is the basic protection we recommend for every trip.

A cap shields your face from the sun, and a neck gaiter or buff protects the areas that burn most often.

Gloves protect the backs of your hands from sun and line friction. Polarized sunglasses cut glare off the water so structure below the surface is easier to see.
